Nigeria lawn tennis team has participated in both local and international competitions where they have either recorded victories or lose in the competition;
The Nigeria male tennis team participated in the Governor’s Cup Lagos Tennis where they qualified for the quarter-final of the men’s doubles event of the first leg.
Nigeria junior Igbinovia Osewa, Nigeria lawn tennis player who participated in the 2017 International Tennis Federation became the first in the Nigerian lawn tennis team to emerge as the winner by defeating Maiga Quattara Burkina Baso with 6 - 1, 6 - 2 in the male under 16 category.
Nigerian tennis teen star, Marylove Edwards who represented Nigeria at West Central U14 Championship defeated Kumba of Mali 6-2, 6-0 to emerge as the new champion. This made her be ranked first in Africa for U14 Girls from June 2017.
Nigeria tennis team who represented in the West and Central African tennis tournament that took place in Togo became the overall winner and won 7 gold and 1 bronze medal at the ITF/CAT under 16 tournament
