On 11 May, 2018; Patrick Kamuhia, the International Tennis Federation (ITF) supervisor disclosed at the ITF pro circuit futures tennis tournaments that Nigeria’s professional tennis deserves ITF upgrade.

He stated that following the three-legged Pro circuit tournaments in Abuja, that the quality of facilities and display of tennis talents shows that the country was ready for an upgrade, he went further to say that the tournament was a successful one.

The tournaments played by 20 countries was a good assessment for Nigeria where their facilities have been tested and show that the tournament event can be improved so that there will be bigger price money for higher ranking players to participate.
